How The Four Lads Archive researches, writes, checks and revises its features.
The archive starts with a question, not a promise of certainty. A feature identifies the material it can inspect, separates observation from inference and avoids precise claims that cannot be checked. The writing aims to be useful to a reader who wants to repeat the method.
Sources and corrections
Primary material is preferred when it is available: a recording, programme, session document, catalogue entry or physical object. Secondary sources help with context and comparison. If sources disagree, the disagreement is kept visible. Corrections are reviewed against the page, the source and the wording that needs to change.
Images and authorship
Images in this local build are site assets selected to explain the subject. Each feature is written in one consistent editorial voice by The Four Lads Editorial Desk. The archive does not invent an interview, a visit, a statistic or a person to make a page feel complete.
